Ysabel

Ysabel is a young quintessential artist based in California and New York.  She lived in Asia, Australia, and North America, and studied art in various countries including France, Spain, and Italy.

After Ysabel graduated from Chatham Middle School (in Chatham, New Jersey) with an Outstanding Achievement in Fine Arts Award, she enrolled at the Art Students League of New York in Manhattan and the Bridgeview School of Fine Arts in Queens, New York.

She graduated in 2016 from the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art, and Performing Arts. During her last year at LaGuardia HS, her oil painting entitled "Tinik" (fishbone in Tagalog) won a New York City wide art competition where her painting was exhibited in the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and showcased in giant electronic screens in Times Square in summer of 2016.  

Her oil painting entitled "Biyaya" was invited to an exhibit in a prominent art gallery in the Philippines in early 2017.  In January 2017, she was commissioned to create the cover for a book entitled "Even the Rainbow Has a Body" written by Los Angeles based author Prosy Dela Cruz. She likewise created illustrations for the classical crossover music album entitled Des Rêves (artist: Simon and Rush) launched in New York and Los Angeles in November 2017.

She then shortly studied abroad in Barcelona under the School of Visual Arts (SVA New York), and in the Florence University of Art in Italy. She also held her first solo exhibition, Meeting Rosie, in the fall of 2019 in Manhattan. Since then she has participated in several group exhibitions in Long Island, New York. 

Ysabel is currently based in California, after finishing her triple concentration on fine arts, business, and Asian and Asian American studies at Stony Brook University.
